Data Protection and Privacy

As per General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), it is necessary to share the below regarding how your data is protected.

We hold personal data including name, email address, contact numbers, and addresses for the purposes of offering psychological therapy. We may also take some notes during and after sessions. Basic information as listed above will be stored for three years and therapy notes will be kept for three months after the end of our work. All data will be stored on secure web servers.

You have the right to request to see all information we have about you. You may request changes made to incorrect data and can request data be deleted. The only exception to this is data that we are legally obliged to keep such as records of financial transactions for tax purposes.

We will never share data with a third party unless you ask us to, or unless obliged to do so by a court of law. We are also required by law to speak to relevant authorities if we believe that you or another person is in immediate risk of harm. In this scenario, we will aim to inform you first. The only exception to this is if your therapist passes away unexpectedly during prior to the end of therapy, their supervisor will be given your contact details to discuss this with you and to consider alternative therapy provisions.
